Since 2020, Away has partnered with the non-profit Global Glimpse on their Passport Scholarship Fund and other initiatives to empower the future generation through travel.  On Giving Tuesday, the brief was to create a 360-degree campaign on Away’s channels that amplified Global Glimpse’s mission and impact, and to create supporting content on Global Glimpse’s channels for the nonprofit to leverage. 

Generation Travel was a student-centered campaign created to empower a new generation of young leaders through travel. World-renowned photographer Martin Schoeller took passport-style photos of a diverse group of high school students who had traveled with Global Glimpse, lending his signature style usually reserved for the likes of Barack Obama and Jay-Z to the campaign. The students were interviewed one-on-one, and shared how their travels to Ecuador, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic with Global Glimpse impacted their lives. The result was a series of deeply personal, authentic, and inspiring stories and portraits, and a campaign that spanned a Times Square billboard, radio, social, video, ecomm, email, retail, and PR.

The success of this campaign was measured not only on Away’s channels, but on Global Glimpse’s channels as well, because part of the brand’s impact work is lending their marketing capabilities to partners.
